Inviting A Friend For Coffee - Remember That Presentation Matters A Lot

By Nazimabee Woozeer

It is one thing to invite a guest to have a cup of coffee in your house. However, it is a completely different thing to get this job done in such a manner that you get nothing but compliments and appreciation. Many people underestimate the level of work required to have a cup of coffee.

Presentation is very important when you are inviting somebody to have something in your house. This is very important in case of a cup of coffee. This is because the drink in itself has very little scope for improvement. Unless you go in for fancy additions like a hazelnut syrup or chocolate syrup, the actual drink remains the same.

In such a scenario, the cutlery and the trays used to serve the coffee automatically become important. Further, the level of presentation also matters. You have the option of preparing the coffee and simply serving the same or you have the option of preparing the constituents and offering to make the coffee right in front of the guest.

The latter option may seem very cumbersome and problematic but is certainly going to impress any guest who feels that he or she ought to be treated properly. On the other hand, a friend of yours who is more interested in talking to you and chatting with you will find all these formalities cumbersome.

It is very important to have something to eat with a cup of coffee. Whether the guest has something to eat or not is irrelevant. As a host, it is your duty to provide refreshments. That is a reason why snacks like biscuits and other such eatables are always offered with coffee.

Not only does this make a good impression, it also helps you balance the whole invitation. Calling somebody to your house just for a drink does not make sense. On the other hand, having something to nibble automatically rounds off the entire affair and makes you feel as if you have taken good care of your guest.

When you pay special attention to the requirements of your guests and when you focus on all these points, it is obvious that he or she is going to feel respected. That is the whole purpose of the affair, right? Just because you are having an informal gathering does not mean you should completely skip all these rules.

You can modify them to suit your requirements. However, a touch of formality in an informal interaction is always going to create a good impression.
